Govt Contractor: Probe in embezzlement case initiated

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti Corruption Circle has initiated a probe against a contractor who, in connivance with Pakistan Public Works Department officials, had constructed a swimming pool at his house using Rs10 million from the public exchequer. The FIA initiated the probe on a written reference from the district coordination officer and summoned the contractor, Haji Muhammad Ismail, under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).  Ismail, a government contractor, had allegedly embezzled Rs10.071 million and used the money to build a swimming pool on land owned by Ismail in Manga Mandi.
