The operation was conducted on a tip off and security officers seized pistols and hand grenades during the raid.
The deceased were identified as Saeedullah and Azam Mehsud.
According to Rangers’ personnel, various identity cards were also recovered from their possession.
Previous encounters
Three alleged militants of the banned TTP were killed during a raid by Rangers personnel in the Gulshan-e-Buner area of Landhi, Karachi on November 13. The security officers had raided TTP hideouts after receiving a tip off that the militants were planning an attack on the 10th of Muharram. One Rangers official had also lost his life.
On October 2, six alleged militants of the outlawed TTP were killed in two encounters with the police and the Rangers in Karachi. A large cache of weapons and 200kg of explosives were also recovered, officials had claimed.
An alleged member of the TTP was also killed on September 18 during an encounter in Karachi’s Manghopir area. Separately, two suspected terrorists were apprehended from Gulshan-e-Buner area of Quaidabad.
