Defending champions KRL beat Baloch FC 2-0

Hussain, Mehmood help team move up to sixth position in PPFL.

KARACHI: Defending champions KRL continued their winning streak in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) as they crushed Baloch FC 2-0 at the Railway Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

Saddam Hussain scored the opening goal in the 14th minute of the match as KRL led 1-0 at the interval. Mehmood Khan also contributed in the 77th minute and sealed the ninth victory for KRL this season.

KRL stepped up to sixth position with 32 points after playing 16 matches. They were the last team to begin the tournament in October.

According to their striker Kaleemullah, the next nine matches will be crucial for the club. He said that the team needed to win their remaining fixtures in order to successfully defend the PPFL title this year.

Meanwhile, Baloch FC stand in the 13th position with 18 points after playing 23 matches.

In another fixture, Lyallpur FC drew against Pak-Afghan Clearing Agency in a goalless match at Battle X Football Ground.
