The big chill: Freezing weather paralyse Balochistan

Kalat’s minimum recorded temperature was minus 17 Celsius.

QUETTA: Water pipes froze in the provincial capital on Monday as temperatures dropped to minus 14 degrees Celsius, with a chilly wind blowing across the city. According to the Met office forecast for Monday, north and northwestern parts of Balochistan are in the grip of severely cold weather. Kalat’s minimum recorded temperature was minus 17 Celsius and Dalbandin recorded minus 5 Celsius. Temperature was below freezing point in Ziarat at -16 C, while Killa Abdullah and Zhob saw temperatures of -15 degree Celsius.
