4 dead, 27 injured in truck-bus collision on Islamabad motorway

Three of the injured, including a child, are in critical condition.

ISLAMABAD:
Four people were killed and at least 27 others sustained injuries when a heavy cement truck collided with a 72-seater passenger bus near Islamabad motorway toll plaza, Express News reported on Sunday.

The collision left people trapped inside the bus which was headed from Lahore to Islamabad.

The dead and injured were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for first aid. Dr Ayesha of Pims confirmed that four people were killed, adding that three of the injured - including a child - are in critical condition.


Emergency was been declared at the hospital and additional doctors were called in.

Rescue officials reached the scene, attempting to cut the bus and free people who are currently trapped inside.

There were reportedly 70 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.
