Wapda replaced PAF on second place in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) with a 1-0 win against Navy on Saturday.


Zulfiqar Shah scored the winner in the 43rd minute of the match as Navy failed to equalise despite many attempts.

Wapda have now accumulated 39 points and are on par with KESC. It was Wapda’s 10th win in the season out of 20 matches. They have drawn nine and lost only one match so far.

Navy continued on seventh place with 27 points after playing 25 matches.

Meanwhile, two new teams that will be promoted to the PPFL next year, Pakistan Railways and Baloch FC Quetta played the final of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Division B league where the former won 2-0.

Besides booking their spot in the PPFL next year, Pakistan Railways received a prize money of Rs150,000 as the winners of the PFF and Baloch FC Quetta were handed Rs100,000 as the runners-up.
