Command conference: Army chief visits engineers’ centre

Talking at occasion, COAS pays tribute to contributions of Engineers Corps and its sacrifices in defence of nation.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited regimental centre of the Corps of Engineers at Risalpur on Friday, in connection with the commanding officers’ conference. The conference of each corps of army is a regular event which provides for an interactive forum to affect operational, training and administrative improvements at the grass root level, said an ISPR statement. Talking at the occasion, the COAS paid tribute to contributions of the Engineers Corps and its sacrifices in defence of the nation. He specially lauded them for their achievements in nation building tasks to build the iconic Karakuram Highway and the on-going construction of 714 kilometres long Central Trade Corridor, linking Pakistan with Afghanistan through South and North Waziristan Agencies.
