Stolen vehicle: Policeman, carjacker injured in crossfire

Exchange of fire occurs in Kotka Muhammad Khan, Bannu.

BANNU: A police constable was injured, along with a carjacker, in exchange of fire during an encounter in Kotka Muhammad Khan, Bannu on Friday morning. Nabi Shah, an official of Domail police, said based on intelligence information, police set up a checkpoint on Link Road and waved down a car for a security check. However, Muhammad Hashim, who was driving the stolen vehicle, opened fire at the police during which head constable Qudratullah was severely injured. In retaliatory fire, the carjacker was also shot and then taken to the hospital, where he is said to be in critical condition.
