Unfortunate death: Security guard killed by comrade's fire

The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Asif.

KARACHI: A security guard employed by a private company was accidentally shot dead by his colleague in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Asif, son of Abdul Aziz, a resident of Shireen Jinnah Colony. According to police sources, the deceased was deployed at the Nueplex cinema in Phase VIII where the incident occurred on the night between Thursday and Friday. Two visitors to the cinema were allegedly harassing some women when the guards intervened to resolve the issue. "One of the guards accidentally fired a bullet which hit and killed the second guard," said the sources. Police have detained the security guard, Afsar Khan and the two young men who were allegedly harassing he women. Sources claimed that the men belonged to influential families and were related to the Magsi tribe.
