The ban, if enacted, will be yet another step towards a complete breakdown in fast deteriorating ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
It has been reported that the ban on Pakistani channels will be put into effect due to rising tension between the two countries following JI leader Abdul Quader Molla’s hanging.
Pakistani investors who have invested into Bangladesh also face uncertainty after the incident.
Bangladesh's commerce secretary was quoted as saying "We will decide in a day or two about the participation of Pakistani stalls in the trade fair". He assured the youth that the demand for suspending trade relations with Pakistan had been conveyed to higher authorities.
Earlier this week, many protestors gathered around the Pakistan High Commission office in Dhaka to protest against Pakistan's reaction to the hanging - particularly the National Assembly's resolution condemning Molla's killing.

As a Bangladeshi ,I don't support the demand of closing Pakistani Channels .I also believe that majority Bangladeshi do not support the closure of the Pakistani channels. However, I would like to say that Pakistani channels are not that popular.May be few people may watch them. Even those who support Sheikh Hasina, are good natured and think that she cares about development Bangladesh (not for her hating Pakistan). . I agree with you that this is temporary. Since we do not have a shared border or water dispute with Bangladesh, our arguments will never last long. Indians can do whatever they like but they cannot succeed anymore (due to their attitude to Bangladeshis). . As far Dhaka's comment, his comments are never mature. So even if he is Bangladeshi (which he obviously is not), his comments don't matter as they are immature.

Most well informed and knowledgeable Pakistanis already know what you wrote. India is of course behind the current troubles of Bangladesh, and wanted to make Bangladesh her vessel state by weakening her. Just before the current regime in Dhaka, there existed excellent relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, and many Pakistani investors and businessmen heavily invested in Bangladesh's economy and installed several manufacturing units especially in the garments industry. Looks like "hate" is slogan to win elections in India and Bangladesh! While it may get you some votes, but creating and fuelling hate is only harmful for communities. Give peace a chance, banning Pakistan channels will only create isolation and unwanted hate!

Ignorance is the biggest problem you all have.
Bengali is a Sanskrit based language, and so is Hindi and Punjabi and most Indian languages. Most Bengalis can understand Hindi at the very elementary level with some effort (and vice-versa). It has nothing to do with Urdu, which again is Hindi based (the spoken part) to a large extent.
The Indians have never been so obsessed about hating things. They imported and adopted whatever came their way. This is why Hindi has so many Arabic words and no one minds.

Banning Pakistani channels, well that's something that even Americans, British, European and Canadians have never done despite their foreign policies; and the step of banning Pakistani channels simply show lack of maturity and tolerance of Hasina Wajid's government. Moreover, many Bangladeshi friends watch Pakistani serials and understand Urdu/Hindi too, and I hope some Indians don't start saying that Pakistan Army vaccinated Bengalis with a virus due to which they started to have interest and understanding towards Urdu language, the same way as Nazis did in their camps.

Bengali's are very proud of their culture, and neither Pakistan or India can make them think otherwise. So, the Pakistani channels are being banned more because of the hatred they spread based on religion, not because of Pakistan's dramas or music.
Indian channels / movies are purely entertainment oriented, and are loved in Pakistan and other countries. Imagine if the Indian movies talked bad about everything Muslim, will they be popular in Pakistan?
This is the logic that Pakistanis never think of (assuming there is something called logical or rational thinking left in Pakistan).
JI of BD was a powerful partner in previous BD governments but it did not do anything to improve relations with Pakistan but when it fell in hot waters, it's taking down Pakistan with it. This party will not let us live in peace with our neighbour's. Since 1947 it's mission is to destroy Pakistan.
