Defeating terrorism: NA speaker lauds Colombo struggle
Sadiq says meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz and Sri Lankan president had given a boost to the bilateral relations
ISLAMABAD:
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq lauded the Sri Lankan government’s efforts in defeating the menace of terrorism from its soil. In a courtesy call on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksein Colombo, Sadiq said the meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Sri Lankan president had given a boost to the bilateral relations between the two countries. Sadiq also commended the arrangements made by the Sri Lankan government for successfully organising the Commonwealth heads of government meeting. Sri Lankan President Rajapakse acknowledged the support extended by Islamabad during Sri Lankan war against terrorism and said that Pakistan’s unflinching support during the three decade war had helped in the elimination of terrorism from the country.
