LAHORE: A delegation of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Saturday called on Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani at the Lahore registry of the apex court. Justice Jillani assured SCBA representatives that differences between the bar and the bench would soon be resolved. He said the judiciary would continue to dispense justice in accordance with the Constitution. Bar leaders told the chief justice that the legal fraternity wanted to see a new Supreme Court which stayed away from political affairs. The chief justice accepted an invitation by LHCBA to attend the bar’s annual dinner next month. Justice Jillani also reviewed administrative affairs of the Lahore registry. SCBA secretary Asif Mahmood Cheema and LHCBA president Abid Saqi led the delegation.
