KARACHI: Police and Rangers rescued four people from their kidnappers on Tuesday. The law enforcers were on a flag march in Sahibdaad Goth within the limits of the Saudabad police station, when they saw a ‘suspicious’ car and flagged it down. The Honda Civic (AHD 584), speeded up instead of stopping, said SHO Ali Hasan, adding that they pursued the vehicle.

Two men, suspected to be the kidnappers, parked the car at the side of a road and ran away. Four men were found inside the car. They were identified as Mansoor Raza, Syed Wajahat, Mujahid Hussain and Muhammad Shoaib. According to Hasan, the men bore signs of torture and were in ‘bad condition’.

Quoting the kidnapped men, Hasan said the kidnappers had said they were taking the men somewhere to kill them.

“Your friends have killed our friends [so] we will kill you,” the suspects had told the four men.

Police records showed that the Honda Civic used by the kidnappers was snatched from Shahrae Faisal on September 22 and an FIR had been lodged regarding the case.

Police officials said that the rescued men were residents of Malir. They were kidnapped on Tuesday morning, between 9 am and 11 am.
