Waar had gathered a total first day box office collection of 11.4 millions rupees whereas Dhoom 3 made a total of a little more than 19 million rupees in Pakistan on its opening day on Thursday.
Waar was released on 53 screens on Eid-ul-Azha whereas Dhoom 3 was released on 56 screens and made the record on a weekday which indicates its success in the coming weeks. It is still too early to say that Dhoom 3 will will beat the overall business of Waar but it will most likely become the highest-grossing Indian film in Pakistan by beating Chennai Express's total business of approximately Rs100 million.

Pakistan will always be a Hypocrite Nation. Even after 100 years from now.

@Pakistani1: Pakistani movies are not banned in India. The truth is that no one here actually cares about your movies. Why should we when we have so many options.
@khan: watch udaan,bhag milkha bhag,lunchbox,makkhi,ship of thesus and then judge indian movies
praps pakistanis consider bollywood movies as strictly "indian" movies. they r mistaken bcoz there r hundreds of independent brilliant internationally acclaimed movies being produced in india such as "the lunchbox","ship of thesus","meghe dhaka tara"(bengali),"the good road","shobdo"(bengali) and many more.........so dont judge "indian culture and indian movie" with those movies you are shown only..........whatsoever if u dont like indian movies to come to your country then protest for it........lastly i can show u a number of movies(indian not necessarily bollywood)which can make u forget "waar"..
@Lala Gee:
You might not aware of the fact that Dhoom #3 has spent least amount after promoting compared to Chennai Express, Krish #3 etc. The were sure that the fan following of Aamir Khan, Katrina, and Dhoom series are so huge that the movie was sure to succeed. Check the fact before make any comments lala gee : )
Great entertainment. Aamir and gang in top form. Eat your hat, Mubashir Lakshman and his ARY establishment friends who tried to ban Bollywood movies in pakistan. We love you Aamir and Bollywood.
Many thanks
Dr Sameena Hussain
Indian film makers are very cleaver . They know the muslim psychy which is anti US in general . Attack on Chikago Bank can be compared with the attack on the Twin Tower therefore the film will earn a lot .
Amir Khan is the best Actor ever. I watched every movie. 3 Idiots.. mind blowing performance. & Katrina Kaif is the hottest ever.. I couldn`t get the tickets.. :(
Dear Print & Electronic Media how much paid you for advertisement ????
@Pappu Bacha: pls do that!
@Guru: @Lala Gee: ha...............ha..................ha!
I will watch Dhoom 10053. Its the legacy of bollywood to keep making sequels of boring movies
Well i think both movies are scripted very nicely, waar was not a totally commercial sort of film but was still watchable and best think was it was not against any country so every one can enjoy watching it. Dhoom 3 is total commercial movie and has all ingredient of successfully bollywood masala movie and i have watch it twice in 3 day. It will break 400 crore record. You can watch it on this link http://movies-ka-hungama.blogspot.com, free
@Pakistani lol lol lol..According to Wikipedia dhoom3′s total budget 23million US $ and Waar’s Total Budget 1.9million US $..and u still want to compare ET?? low even from your standards ET
pakistani, you are wrong! The cost of producing movie waar was zero, as the money for the movie came from the pak army budget.
Apple to orange comparison by ET. Dhoom 3 is a private production, while waar was a gift by pakistani army to the great nation of pakistan. Other important difference, waar was the only movie in history of pakistan where the result of a waar was scripted by the pakistani army instead of the indian army.
I just don't get it! How can PATRIOTIC Pakistanis allow a Indian movie to make more money than "waar", which is a national treasure of "creative" and imaginative accomplishment of pakistaaan? I am about to blow my top! :-)
@Ayesha: The main lead actor of dhoom 3 is a muslim, Aamir Khan and some of the best actors in bollywood are muslim saif, Salman and richest actor in the world Shah Rukh khan.
Those pakistan people who trolls here telling waste of time to see movie are the first one in the queue on theatre to see dhoom 3.
Go have a thorough look at first review on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1833673/reviews
@Bada Bhai:
if u dint like the movie than better not talk about it in public
I will better do my last one week laundry in those 3 hours instead of watching Dhoom-3...dont have 3 hours for Dhoom-3... Pappu (Shorkot)
Pakistan movies are NOT banned in India. Please don't mislead people. The reason movies fail to be shown is because theatre owners only screen movies that has prospect of doing good business. Most Pakistani movies are not of very good quality bar a few.
I have seen this movie, but i was disappointed. The movie will go on in the name of Amir Khan. But i liked Dhoom-1,specially John Abraham appearance. I was amazed to see Abhishek Bacchon patience ,all the series he was sidelined,but he never lost hope!!!
But,its unfair to compare "warr" with 'Dhoom-3', because of its budget, lack of Katrina Kaif (a lot of people just go to see her),location, sexy dancing (or art ). I have a feelings this movie has bought some ideas from Hollywood,though the will never acknowledge it.
@Pakistani1: India does not ban Pakistani movies. Both Bol and Khuda Ke Liye were released in India. No one has claimed that Waar was banned in India either. But whether a distributor chooses o distribute a movie or not is entirely a commercial issue and it maybe the case that an Enlish language movie with any-India content may not have found any takers among distributors - which is purely a commercial matter. After all it is not like Waar got a release in any other foreign country except Dubai. The UK had permitted it o be shown in UK but they were unable to organize a release.
Do not confuse lack of commercial viability with a ban.
wonder who paid to watch this ? . idiot''s movie of the year!
@Usman Masood: Oh, please don't watch Indian movies. Watch Hollywood movies, the movies from country which carries drone strikes in Pakistan everyday. We don't care either-way.
The figure of 19 million is wrong. The actual figure of collection of dhoom 3 is PKR 2.23 Crore in Pakistan. Pls check the below link: www.bollymoviereviewz.com/2013/12/dhoom-3-first-day-worldwide-box-office.html?m=1
Plot good, acting bad, songs great, choreography superb.
Now you don't need to waste your money.
@usman
Katrina won't even spit on army propaganda film like WAAR with such amateur galli director and poor production value.
We are talking real cinema here with proper storytelling and screenplay. Pakistani movies fare poorer in comparison with B grade regional indian movies made on shoestring budget.
The fact is that Pakistanis do not respect their actors. In Punjabi, we all know what they are referred to as by most Pakistanis. Religious brigade calls it forbidden in the religion. Can they say the same about waar?
A typical hypocrite nation.
This one to Mubasher Lucman, facepalm
never see any Dhoom movie uptill now and I dont have time to waste watching idiotic movies like these....moreover its strange that national media doesn't gave too much coverage to Paki movies like Khuda k liye and Waar but giving coverage to sub-standard movie like Dhoom....what happened to our media?...where are we heading towards?...seriously ET....u r biased on ur reporting
@Guru: Agreed, cartoons are easier to tolerate than indian movies, and one must be mature enough to sit through that torture. Good point.
@Guru: Only a troll can equate maturity with watching indian movies. Well done.
Rafay Mahmood must be really happy!
Internet is also unislamic I suggest you practice what you preach and boycott Internet! Will you? Tv is also unislamic but I'm sure you have tv at home @Ayesha:
Records are there to be broken. . It is sign of quick growth in Pakistani Cinema/entertainment Industry. . Main money has been earned by Pakistani cimea/importer. . Next big film will break this record as well.
i'd rather watch a cartoon on TV :-/
Don't care how many records it breaks, I'm still not watching it.
hypocricy EXPOSED....:D
Waar as a propaganda movie, supported, funded, promoted by we all know who... what are we comparing it against??? Its shameful to see artists and creative directors of pak joining hands with our powerful to spread propaganda... very sad day for creative arts in pak.. as in all other fields.. the day i heard about who funded waar and what was the purpose to spread false propaganda, i lost respect for the film and the directors..
It still means Pakistani cinemas are making a comeback and some jobs will be created in cinemas for unemployed youth. No losers here.
Two things comes out of this
First is people want to watch Indian movies and they dont care where movie comes from.
Second is it is good for the economy. It generates jobs and strengthens the institutions associated with cinema industry.
Banning Indian movies is akin to going against people's will
watched it yesterday at cinepax. hardly managed to get a ticket. Movie is great ! but should not be compared with the Waar.
@Rajesh .. Well said .. But thats nature right.. Bite the people who give you food
We request ban on indian movies just like india bans pakistani movies. We have full trust in our talented people who make great and sensible movies like Waar. Movies like dhoom are vulgar and nonsense anyways
Pakistan must stop showing Bollywood movies as they are un-Islamic.
Looks like some pakistani media channels are being run by indian nationals
@Rajesh: I agree with this comment. As a Pakistani I am against the showing of Indian content in television and films, mainly because it doesn't happen vice versa so why should we help generate business for a country who doesn't care about our growing media industry. But nevertheless Pakistanis are in denial that they don't watch Indian films or dramas and on top, the fact Turkish dramas are successful show that foreign content is what Pakistanis secretly love but have a pro-Pakistani stance to the world. It's a shame our people can't even go out and support a well made film of ours, so it does show most Pakistanis do love Bollywood and just act as if they don't. On top of that, you do have to realise that the film was bound to be successful because of the cast and Bollywood is a well established industry unlike ours.
Its good news for Pakistani economy. Cinemas get business, support industries generate revenue and above all people get entertained.
These figures need to go much higher though it is great to see that the cinema industry os finally reviving and every succeeding film is being released on a larger number of screens.
@Pakistani
Even in Hollywood (when comparing gross or even for Oscar consideration), films are judged on their own merit, not as a function of their budget.
Where are the pakistani trolls who say pakistanis hate hindi films ?? Accept, Appreciate, Enjoy !!
Yeh Tou Hona Hi Tha..
Within the next 2 to 3 years, Pakistan will also have a 100 crore club! There are tens of cinemas under construction while the (struggling) middle class has something more to do now in their lives other than food and sleep.
Rafay mahmood is so happy...omg!!
the lesson is stop anti India hostility and terrorism. If at all you want to survive as a country with current borders be friends with India. All the hate filled Pakistan studies education has not turned you away from your roots. Top 10 google searches confirmed this. Pakistan, Afghanistan and India can all be friends. May be you can succeed in ensuring polio vaccination for every one.
Would have loved to see you people mentioning the total budget of both the films compared in this article as well..But o well thats Journalism right??
lol lol lol..According to Wikipedia dhoom3's total budget 23million US $ and Waar's Total Budget 1.9million US $..and u still want to compare ET?? low even from your standards ET
LOL!
To all my Pakistani brothers, please save yourself some time and money by not watching this movie as it is barely watchable.
All i would like to say is "I am Disappointed" over the choice of our people. The blind following of useless love triangle or Villian/Vamp Indian movies. Sometimes filled with ununderstandable telgu, This time With so called Mr Perfectionist, whose speaking tone is similar in every movie.
Bravo ET! Comparing the Indian Cinema with ours! Kindly mention the purpose of this comparison; is it to promote the Indian movie or to discourage our own?
Comparing Apples with Oranges. ET wake up.
Silly and useless comparison. Any box office success is good news for Pakistan as it helps economy and sets the standard bit higher for other filmmakers. Which means more quality productions in future.
Comparing Dhoom 3 to Waar? Genius.
How dare nation spend more movie on Bollywood. Nation fails Army again :(
Special thanks to media (specially one channel) for advertising Indian movies over Pakistani movie and promoting vulgar culture...
