Inflation: SPI down 1.02% during the week
The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.67% during the week under review.

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended December 19 has registered a decline of 1.02% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI reading stood at 200.78 points against 202.84 recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.67% during the week under review, standing at 209.74 points against 211.15 in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group rose 11.76%. During the week, average prices of 12 items registered a decrease while those of 19 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 22 items stood unchanged.
