Hockey: WAPDA thrash Police in thrilling encounter

Navy draw their match 3-3 against PTV.

The 60th NBP National Hockey Championship opened on Thursday with Wapda flaying Police 8-1 in a one-sided match.


According to the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Aleem Bilal and M Adnan fired a brace each for the winning side. Another match saw Navy drawing their match 3-3 against PTV.


Mohsin Sabir and Asad Aziz scored a goal each for Navy in the first half while Akbar Ali contributed in the 38th minute.


For PTV, all goals came in the second half courtesy Waqas Ahmed, Nabeel Akram and Waqas Butt. Meanwhile, NBP overcame Army 4-2 in the last match of the day.
