Attempted suicide: Couple found unconscious at Sea View

“Our families didn’t want us to get married so we thought we could at least die together,”the woman told Express News.

KARACHI: A 23-year-old young man and a 22-year-old woman were found unconscious near Sea View on Wednesday.

According to the police, both were residents of Orangi Town and had tried to commit suicide by jumping into the sea after consuming poison.

“Our families didn’t want us to get married so we thought we could at least die together,” the young woman told Express News. She had left her house in the morning for college and had gone to Sea View with the young man. Meanwhile, their families refused to initiate any legal process, the police said.

Initially, they were taken to Jinnah hospital from where they were later shifted to a private facility as their condition was critical.
