Talking to reporters at the residence of PPP Peshawar district leader Sartaj Khan Doranpur, Khanzada, in his first media interaction, said all senior leaders have extended their support to him. Khanzada said the party has also constituted a committee, headed by provincial general secretary Humayun Khan, to solve issues in district chapters of PPP.

He claimed PPP had its roots in the public and was the only party which had something to offer to the people. To a question about the local body elections, Khanzada said a meeting of PPP’s Peshawar chapter had been held to give tickets to candidates who can win the polls.
Khanzada said he was fully authorised by the party leadership to manage the affairs of Peoples Youth Organisation, Peoples Student Organisation and the women’s wing of the party. He said no changes were imminent in the party provincial cabinet in the near future.
Humayun Khan, on the occasion, said since the selection of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao as PPP’s provincial president years ago, all chiefs are selected by the senior leadership till today. “There is no difference in PPP as regard to this decision and everyone has accepted it,” said Humayun.
To a question about the party’s re-organisation, Humayun said the K-P chapter has forwarded its recommendations to the central leadership, and they are now awaiting their decision in this regard. He said currently the party was filling vacant positions at district level, while a committee has also been formed which will visit different districts of K-P along with Khanzada.
