Six people were killed and over 50 others injured in various parts of Punjab in traffic accidents caused by a thick fog, Express News reported Tuesday.

A collision between a donkey cart and a vehicle in Ferozwala left one person dead and another injured. In Johar town, a teenager on a motorcycle also died in a traffic accident.

One person was killed in an accident between two motorcyles in Sargodha, while three more died in other parts of the province.

In Okara, two vehicles collided, leaving 10 people injured, of whom four are students. Another five students in Pindi Bhattian were injured when a rickshaw and a bus collided.

Motorway police have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel on the motorway, while trains throughout the country have been delayed.

The fog on GT Road and other nearby roads have restricted visibility to five to 10 meters. Traffic in DI Khan was also suspended for 3 hours.

Traffic has resumed on motorways after improvement of visibility levels. Some sections of the motorway had been closed earlier due to the fog.

Electricity feeders were tripped in many areas in Lahore resulting in a loss of electricity for at least 9 hours.
