KARACHI:

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday reserved its verdict on a plea seeking removal of the former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s name from Exit Control List (ECL).

The SHC special division bench observed that the court had not issued orders to the interior ministry for inclusion of Musharraf’s name in the ECL but the applicant was restrained from leaving country without permission of the trial court.

AQ Halepota, representing Musharraf, said his client wanted to be with his 95-year-old ailing mother in Dubai after his release on bail, adding that placing his client’s name on the ECL was a violation of fundamental rights. He requested the court to review its earlier order.
