On June 18, 2012 Ghazala was shot dead along with her father in Mohallah Nuo, Dabgari, Peshawar. Her younger sister, Farhat Javed later filed an FIR with the police, accusing Jehangir and his friends, Salam and Naseer, of killing Ghazala and her father. She told the police Ghazala had a dispute with Jehangir, from whom she had sought a divorce only six months after marriage.
The verdict was delivered by District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Tariq Pervaiz Baloch, who handed the penalty to the accused, a resident of Hindki Daman, Peshawar.
The punishment was given on three counts, including twice execution till death, a fine of Rs50 million and Rs20 million for the two murders, and Rs1 million fine and 10 years imprisonment. On the occasion, Jehangir was accompanied by a large number of his relatives.
Though Salam and Naseer are still at large since the murder last year, Jehangir was arrested on August 29, 2012 from his house. On November 3, 2012, Peshawar District and Sessions Judge Shahbar Khan pronounced the charges against him. The case was later transferred to Swat after Javed’s family received threats.

Dear sadah loh awam don't get carried away. This is land of pure and it is only a sessions court decision. There are plenty of opportunities for large sums of money to change hand and the decision to be squashed. Remember Jatoi's son who was sentenced to death! You people don't learn do you.
@ Qasim Who is desperate to self-congratulate even on delayed matters? Please read the above comments.
@Muslim Leaguer: I dont know know can you explain me? how many women have acid attacked in Punjab in last 3 year and how many people got punished??? You will be astonished to see that. Almost 0% punishment because police are not doing proper investigation against such crimes.
Really loving the progress KPK is making under PTI government.
Dear Liberals / Secularist / anti PTI
You guys must be biting your fingers the way KPK is moving forward during PTI tenure. Please quickly make up some news in order to criticise Imran Khan.
Pakistan is advanced and humane in terms of executions than all the Muslim countries, China, India and the United States.
@Okara bull: Don't be stupid. It's court's decision, PTI has nothing to do with it.
who will carry out the punishment. Honorable judge plz take permission first from EU then give such verdict
@ Okara bull PTI is too desperate to take credit for everything! It took 1.5years to trace the killer. Even PTI has been in power for 200 days (6.5 months) to identify the killer. I am surprised how PTI is self-congratulating itself when the killer is her husband and according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) any investigation by Police starts with near relatives.
Judge was one of the fans :D - good job!
I appreciate the speed with which Mr Baloch has delivered justice. Hopefully he himself and other judges will follow the suit.
Well done KPK police and government. PTI are taking police in right direction.
