Addressing a press conference at the PML-N central secretariat, Rashid challenged the PTI Chairman to hold his December 22 sit-in against price hikes at Minar-e-Pakistan instead of Mall road, if he believed he still maintained the popularity he had prior to the elections.
Rashid claimed that endorsements of the PTI sit in by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the PML-Q leadership proved that Khan and former President Asif Ali Zardari had the "same script writer".
He claimed both parties did not have the courage to challenge PML-N directly, so they had forwarded Khan to present their case.
Rashid also claimed that Imran Khan’s popularity has declined as PTI has failed to deliver in K-P.
"It is ironic that PTI has announced its protest in Lahore, while the prices of commodities in Peshawar are much higher than that in Lahore", the minister said.
Comparing the performances of of K-P and Punjab governments, Rashid claimed the Punjab government has abolished the Patwari system in the province, and revenue records would be computerized by next year, while the K-P government had done nothing to improve the revenue system.
"Punjab has improved the transportation system, while people of Peshawar do not even have a decent transportation system. Imran Khan is still running the Sheriff system in K-P while the police department has improved significantly in Punjab", Rashid said.
He further added that tax collection in Punjab had risen by 17 per cent compared to last year's figures.
He further said that the PTI Chairman’s announcement to his workers to be ready for elections in June, 2014 was an immature approach to democracy.
Taking pot shots at the PTI's claim to eradicate corruption in 90 days, Rashid said the K-P government had neither sent any case of departmental corruption to an anti-corruption department, nor had it filed any reference to NAB.
The information minister said that Imran stood against Pakistan’s achievements in development, foreign investment, improvement of the economy and the country’s relation with the world.

What has PML or PPP ever done for pakistan instead of destroying our economy and looting the country, don't forget its not their first time in running this country and we all know their history.
PTI in its less than year of government, takes strong steps in the promotion of Education and drive against polio while PML wastes money on Metro and laptops.

At this juncture the Minister should be trying to stop the walls falling around him and his Party rather than attacking Imran Khan who is doing what is right by book and right for the ordinary people. @Imkan Batt: Don't be an ethnic chauvinist. All Pakistanis are one and the same. PTI has as much supporters in Lahore and Islamabad as it does in Peshawar, maybe even more. Be loyal to Pakistan first, that's what Imran Khan stands for.

@Sophya Khan: What imran khan wins in "KPK" has no relevance in Punjab. Punjabis are a different kind people than pashtuns of KPK.
GSP+ initiative was picked up by Musharraf and now PMLN finance minister is taking credit of it. They give argument of stock market and 1st quarter GDP growth. But the fact is GDP growth is not actual, its projected. GSP+ was initiated by Musharraf regime. Dollar wont go down, i can bet.

1- Load shedding at record low, 2- GDP on the rise, 3- KSE hitting the roofs, 4- Foreign investment on the rise, 5- Other countries like China, Turkey, Canada and EU trusting Pakistan and investing in different projects, 6- EU granting GSP plus status, So if all the above mentioned achievements mean nothing yes PMLN has miserably failed in its first 7 months. Imran Khan is more popular in Punjab than any PMLN politician. Just look at the street protests and the election results. PMLN are crooks and stole the election, PTI won KP, Punjab, and Karachi.

By issuing statements like the one given by the Minister, popularity of Khan is in fact increasing. Currently Khan is the only leader amongst the lot who enjoys support of the people. In the first six months people have seen how PML-N govt.has burdened them with price hike and additional taxes therefore people who voted for them have now realized that it was their mistake.We all support Khan for the proposed sit in on Mall.
