The MQM has accused the PPP of trying to install its mayors in Karachi and Hyderabad by stealing the party’s mandate.
“The PPP is meting out injustice to the people of Sindh,” said Kunwar Naveed Jameel, a member of the MQM Coordination Committee at a press conference on Saturday.
The PPP-led Sindh government ignored the urban centres of Karachi and Hyderabad in its previous tenure, but now it was trying to snatch the local mandate, he added. The PPP was trying to bring in its own mayor, Jameel said asserting that the PPP was trying to derail democracy.
“The Sindh government instead of correcting its past mistakes has passed another ordinance,” he said.
Jameel said that his party is not planning to boycott the elections, but would continue to raise its voice against the discriminatory policies and actions of the PPP.
