Pakistan, who had stormed into the final after decimating the American team, were beaten by India 48-39 at the Guru Nanak stadium in Ludhiana, India.
The win means India retain their world title.
Prior to the match, Pakistan Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif had said that "if India wins, it means Pakistan’s neighbour has won and we will congratulate you. If Pakistan wins, your [India] neighbour wins, and you can congratulate us."
Earlier, the men’s team had stormed into the 4th Kabaddi World Cup final, thrashing USA 51-33 in their semi-final on Wednesday in India.
The triumph was another feather in Pakistan’s cap in the ongoing campaign; they were the only team besides the hosts to remain unbeaten in the competition so far.
The national team won all five matches in their Group B that had Canada, England, Sierra Leone, Scotland and Denmark.

@Blunt: Expected from Pakistani. all ur life is u been "equalizing matters" , proactive nation and reactive nation u know the difference right ?
Desi Game, Desi Gold Medal, If NBA players form a Kabbadi team, they will beat these guys so badly that will never talk about Kabbadi for next seven generations.
my dear pakistani brothers, thank you to those gracious enough to congratulate india. i always cheer for your boys in any sport when india are not playing. and to those pointing out india's poor show in the odis v south africa, can i remind you who are the reigning world champions and champions trophy holders? :)
Win by India or Pakistan is a victory for both as they were one country for centuries.
well played pakistan,,,,, regards from india
Well done India. @ Siraj and others - pls. accept the defeat gracefully..
@siraj: Its a game brother - please accept the defeat gracefully. Don't mix politics in the game. Shamim Khan
@ uet Kabaddi is the game of balance & power. It requires the player to keep balance all the time. Whereas Imran Khan has lost balance on stage at least twice on different occasions. He could be great at cricket or charity work but a person good at something does NOT necessarily mean that he or she is master of everything!
Guys(Indians and Pakistanis) Please stop showing your egs's. Lets both together force Olympic Committees to make Kabbadi as one of the Olympic games.Indian and Pakistan can surely win medals.Lets think positively. Most Olympic games are games played by US,UK and Europeans. They should definitely include more traditional games. Together we represent around 1.4 billion people. Its a shame we cant make our voice heard.I want to request you guys that we both countries can work in many areas and make our people more happy and developed.Lets work towards this.
Well done india and lot of credit to pakistan. SHAHBA SHE Shahbash Sharif for your speech to your fellow punjabis and indians.
Why can the TTP and the Army not settle their disputes ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ by simply playing a bout of Kabbadi.
Pakistani players played realy well then the last world cup next time they will manage to win it.On the other side junior hockey team done a great job against india
I am not sure why Kababddi is considered a game? Where can I find rules that regulate this "Game"?
@Omer: Well said. It's only a game and meant to be enjoyed fully from the heart. Salams Well played India, Pakistan, and all other contestants. The spirit of the game must be kept alive, compassionate, and smiling. Salams
Pakistan players had vastly improved their game this time. well played both sides ! Sharif sahib is having good time here ,he is visiting jati umra today and will lay stone for development works worth 30m in his ancestral village.badals reciprocating well the hospitality they enjoyed in west Punjab last time
@Vikas: Yes! in home ground they have as usual. Its quite Synonymous!
I doubt any team will come to Pakistan to play due to security.
In the end the title remains in our neighborhood. Congrats to both India and Pakistan. Making it to finals is itself an achievement, winning finals is just the cream on top of cake :)
This is a successful result for PK. Gap has narrowed.
@ Vikas, Taken a look at India in the cricket lately? LOL
Frankly (given the score-line 48-39) I think that Pakistan pushed India all the way very well right to the end (CONGRATS to them for that!) ... and that the days are gone when India could always consider this sport as a "walk-over" ... Pakistan and other countries (such as Iran and others who are up and coming) will do well in the years ahead and will one day de-throne India... and WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT, provided it is all played in the right spirit??? Winning and losing is part of sport... and I am sure that if India is to retain the title the next time it will have to strive even harder and improve even further. More than this match, I give kudos to the fact that Pakistan sent (for the first time) a WOMEN'S team as well to the competition... overall I would say that "haarne mein bhi ek JEET hai" ... I do hope for the well-being of Pakistan (and its sports especially) that such a move is not torpedoed by the likes of the antediluvian JI and such like in the future...
I am happy for Indian victory as they beat everyone so congratulations !!! :D and a congratulations to Pakistan aswell for a splendid performance by them in tournament. One more thing, i would love to see Indian government supporting and promoting these games such as kabaddi kho kho etc because i still remember the situation when women team had to go home in auto rickshaw after winning world cup.I don't have anything against cricket but government should at least support other sports. A question for all,are we feeling the same level of excitement and national pride as we were after winning cricket world cup?
Hi we'll done India and good luck next time Pakistan great players and wonderful team you are. Thank you for giving us great final.
Look at the spirit of the two sides. Pakistani fans congratulating to India, as also evident in the title of the story, while Indian fans as always not wasting any opportunity to bash Pakistan. someone was right about their narrow heartedness.
@uet: @Vikas: No problem. On very same day we equalized the matter with a win in junior hockey world cup, after we thrashed same opposition in Asian championship.
Thanks for the gracious remarks by Pakistanis here.
India trashed pakistan in this play as well.Well done india, keep it up.
