
An additional district and sessions judge on Friday sought comments from Nishtar Colony station house officer in a petition seeking a case against a former pastor accused of embezzling church funds.
Samuel Bashir Masih, general secretary of Lahore Church Council, said the church authorities had received several complaints against former pastor Saqib Zafar. He said Zafar had been relieved of his duties and Robert Gulfam was appointed in his place.
Masih said the council had found Rs500,000 missing from the church funds. He said when Saqib was questioned, he did not explain himself. He said when they visited the police station with their complaint, the SHO ignored them.
Masih asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against Saqib . The judge sought comments from the SHO by
December 21.
