Inflation: SPI down 1% during the week

The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.82% during the week under review

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended December 12 has registered a decline of 1% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI reading stood at 202.84 points against 204.88 recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.82% during the week under review, standing at 211.15 points against 212.90 in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group rose 12.55%. During the week, average prices of 13 items registered a decrease while those of 16 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 24 items remained unchanged.
