KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that wheat is being provided to flour mills and chakies, according to the rules and regulation, adding that there was no shortage of the commodity in Sindh. “There is no shortage of wheat here including Hyderabad,” the minister said, while addressing a bunch of delegations at his office. He said that no one will be allowed to create an artificial shortage of wheat and the talk of insufficient wheat is just disinformation. “There is 100,000 tons of wheat available in Bolhari godown which is quite enough to cater to the needs of the region’s flour mills and chakies until March. Jam said that the food department in Sindh is fully aware of its responsibilities and actions were being taken against those who sold flour at higher prices than fixed by the government. “It is being ensured that flour must be sold at government rates in order to provide relief to the people and profiteers. The hoarders will not be spared at any cost,” he said.
