Pakistan beat South Africa 4-0 in their Junior Hockey World Cup in their 9-12 classification match on Thursday, according to details available on the FIH website.

It was an uneventful first-half between Pakistan and South Africa who began the game very cautiously. Muhammad Dilber scored the opening goal to lend the greenshirts a 1-0 lead right before the breather.

South Africa opened the second frame with a penalty corner but failed to convert it to their advantage. This gave Ammad Shakeel enough motivation to contribute two goals in two minutes. Umar Bhutta sent a perfect pass from the right side for Butt to turn and put away on his back hand for his first goal. Butt earned his second on a well-executed corner, propelling Pakistan ahead 3-0.

The colt’s speed continued to open the game up and a quick passing sequence in the circle allowed Muhammad Irfan to score at the far post for the team’s fourth goal.
