The Lahore High Court on Thursday sought replies from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior and the Forest Department on a plea seeking a safe passage for migratory birds.
Advocate Kashif Sulemani, the petitioner, said that every year millions birds migrated to Pakistan due to harsh weather in their native Siberia.
He said the birds migrated back in summer. He said during their stay in Pakistan, the birds were poached in violation of international laws.
He requested the court to intervene. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard initial arguments and sought replies from the respondents by December 20.

Doubt anything much will happen. Will likely be buried in paperwork. The bureaucrats at these ministries are vile, experienced thugs. They have been issuing licenses, collaborating with hunters for years. No way will they stand and loose money.
