Police officer Imran Shabir has said the bodies were found dumped near the railway track in a desolated place near Gusabad area. The bodies were identified as 31-year-old Abdul Majeed s/o Hamid Khan and 29-year-old Mohammed Azeem s/o Hamid Khan.
“They were brothers and Afghan nationals,” the police officer added.
The bodies were shifted to Provincial Sandeman Hospital for autopsies.
Shabir said it was premature to speculate on the motive behind the twin murder, as the investigation had just launched.
The deceased were residing in Pashtunabad, on the outskirts of Quetta, where hundreds of Afghan families have taken shelter.
Quetta has witnessed influx of Afghan refugees not only after 9/11 but also during the 1980s after the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
According to a rough estimate, more one million Afghan refugees are residing in Balochistan and thousands have obtained Pakistani National ID cards.
