“We’ll protect and defend the fundamental rights of the people as enshrined in the Constitution,” he said.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will work against discrimination of all kinds, be it on the basis of sex, religion or race, announced PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He was reading out from the 18 pledges of the PPP Human Rights Cell the party prepared on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day on Tuesday. “We’ll protect and defend the fundamental rights of the people as enshrined in the Constitution,” he said. “We’ll continue our struggle to fight extremism, religious bigotry, sectarian violence and intolerance in all forms.” To mark the day, a simple ceremony was held at Chief Minister House where the party’s Human Rights Cell office bearers from all provinces, the chief minister and others participated and signed the pledge along with party chief.
