In a first, Orakzai Scouts were permanently deployed in the agency following their graduation ceremony, which was held in Kalaya Headquarters of Lower Orakzai Agency on Tuesday. The scouts will be involved in operations and will play an active role in combat.

The Orakzai Scouts were formed in 1972, but since 2007, parades were not being held due to the security situation. However, now that peace has been restored in the area, the scouts will be deployed at their bases in lower parts of Orakzai.

Commander of Division II Major General Hamayun Aziz was the chief guest.

Addressing the scouts, Aziz said Orakzai Scouts will secure the area and will fight against the enemies of the nation. He also recognised the efforts of FC officials and said that they had rendered heavy sacrifices to restore peace and eliminate militancy in Fata. Prizes were also distributed among the distinguished scouts.
