LAHORE: District and Sessions Judge Syed Hamid Hussain Shah has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for January 8 for former PML-Q MPA Seemal Kamran for allegedly running for election on a forged BA degree.

The regional election commissioner filed a petition against Kamran stating that she had sworn an oath that she possessed a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Punjab.

But the Higher Education Commission found that the degree was a forgery, he said. At the last hearing, the court had issued notice to Kamran. The notice was received but the former MPA did not turn up for Saturday’s hearing of the case.
