Militant attack: Boys school blown up in Mohmand

A boys primary school was blown up by unidentified militants in Naseem Kali area.

GHALLANAI: A boys primary school was blown up by unidentified militants in Naseem Kali area of Mohmand Agency early Friday morning. Sro Kalay police official Gul Shed said explosive material planted inside the school’s premises went off around 2:30am, partially damaging the building. An official of the agency’s education department, Said Muhammad, said more than 110 schools have been destroyed in Mohmand Agency since 2008, most of which were in Safi tehsil where 30 schools are currently under construction. On November 15, the education department ordered reopening of these 30 schools and teachers were advised to resume their duties. As the school buildings were not yet restored, the army and political administration provided tents to accommodate students, shared Muhammad.
