Samir Ahmad alias Chocolate and Muhammad Yasin alias Hasina were arrested under Section 324 for attempted murder, when they were going to perform for a group of people at a wedding. They said a second group stopped and harassed them to perform at their wedding first. The two groups started fighting amongst each other, and the two khwaja siras were arrested.
The police presented both before the judicial magistrate to get a physical remand. Their application, however, was turned down and they were handed over in a seven-day judicial remand and sent to prison.
Talking to the media, Shemale Association President Farzana said the SHO of Banamarhi police station took a bribe from them and also insulted their colleagues when they were arrested.
Ahmad said they had not violated the law in any way and were simply hired for a musical evening at a wedding party. The two groups started fighting amongst themselves, and the transgender community should not be dragged in.
