KARACHI:

To bring companies under the umbrella of ‘Go Green Network’ and encourage them to make office buildings energy efficient, improve employees’ productivity and adopt smart energy devices, the World Wildlife Fund-Pakistan (WWF-P) conducted its second annual network meeting for the ‘Green Office Program’ at Marriot Hotel on Thursday.

After the WWF-P introduced eco-friendly measures in Pakistan in 2010, at least 24 offices adopted minimal use of papers, use of alternative energy sources and proper arrangements for ventilation.

The network meeting was attended by Green Network offices and other potential corporate entities. WWF-P’s director-general Ali Hassan Habib urged people to conserve natural resources by adopting environment-friendly practices.

“Pakistan has energy efficient codes and federal regulation but their implementation is a major issue,” said Pakistan Green Building Council CEO Aqrab Ali Rana.
