Accidents: Two labourers die on job

A painter died after he fell from the roof of a house that he had been painting.

GUJRAT:


A labourer died on Wednesday after receiving an electric shock. Rescue officials said 22-year-old Shakeel Afzal, a resident of Marar Shakraila village, was drilling a borehole for a tube well at his dera. Hey said he touched an iron rod that was in contact with live electricity wires. He died on the spot.


In Gujranwala, a painter died after he fell from the roof of a house that he had been painting. Ghulam Sarwar, a resident of Nizam Chak, was painting the house’s facade when he slipped and fell on the ground. He was taken to Civil Hospital, where succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. Doctors said he had had a head injury that caused his death.
