Aisam, Aqeel deliver tennis masterclass

Outclass opponents 6-1, 6-1 in doubles event at local tournament.

KARACHI: Tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi along with his Davis Cup partner Aqeel Khan outclassed Imran Ali Asghar and Imran Bhatti 6-1, 6-1 in the Hassan Tariq Rahim Masters Cup Tennis Tournament men’s doubles event at the Lahore Gymkhana on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Abid defeated Jalil Khan 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 in the men’s singles event, while Aqeel also registered a win in the singles event against Faizan Khurram 6-0, 6-0.

Mehreen Izhar also won her match against Mahnoor Ali 0-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the women’s singles competition, whereas Rida Khalid defeated Eeshajawad 6-0, 6-1 in round-robin matches.

Muhammad Mudassir Murtaza recorded a win against Hamza Bin Asif 6-2, 7-5 in the boys U18 singles event while Muzammil Murtaza overcame Saad Zafar 7-6 (9-7), 6-2. Arham Atique and Hasnain Manzoor also won their matches.
