Haven for booklovers: Book fair starts on Dec 5

The five-day event is expected to be visited by over 500,000 booklovers.

KARACHI: The ninth Karachi International Book Fair will commence on Thursday, December 5, at the Karachi Expo Centre. The five-day event, being organised by the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association (PPBSA), is expected to be visited by over 500,000 booklovers. At the event, book-sellers will be offering special discounts on books on a variety of subjects, while talk shows, seminars, discussions, book launches and special programmes for children will also be held. The convener of the book fair, Owais Mirza Jamil and PPBSA chairperson Aziz Khalid told a press conference on Tuesday that this year’s book fair will feature publishers from Iran, India, Singapore, Malysia, Britain, and the United Arab Emirates among the 315 bookstalls.
