Bullett Raja misses bull’s eye at box office

The film didn’t earn as much as expected, but had a decent run at the box office.

MUMBAI: While the fate of Bullett Raja’s release in Pakistan hangs in the balance, as the CBFC has refused to censor the movie, India seems to have a lukewarm response to the Shahid Kapoor offering. Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia’s latest offering Bullett Raja may have missed the target at the box office, but it did decent business by earning approximately INR120 million to INR130 million in two days of its release, say trade pundits. The Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer was released in India on Friday.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines says “Bullett Raja is doing decent business at the box office, but nothing great.”

Based in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, Bullett Raja is described as a fest of guns, grime, and glory, but only has a week to utilise its potential. “The film will go steady just for a week, because R...Rajkumar will release next Friday. It looks very impressive, and considering the fact that it’s a Prabhudheva film, there is a lot of hope from the film. His record has been very strong so far,” said Thadani. Shahid Kapoor-starrer R...Raajkumar is also a crime thriller, and another common thread between the two films is Sonakshi, who plays the female lead in this film too.

Sunil Bansal of Yash Raj Jai Pictures Pvt Ltd said that they are now looking forward to Aamir Khan-starrer action thriller Dhoom 3. Coming out December 20, it will see Aamir in a negative role. “But now we are looking forward to Dhoom 3, which will certainly do great business,” said Bansal.
