En route: Eight kilogramme heroin seized

ANF arrests suspected drug-peddler at Benazir Bhutto International Airport.

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin out of the country and arrested a suspected drug-peddler at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Saturday. The suspected smuggler, Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Kharian who has been residing in Italy for the last 15 years, was trying to smuggle the drug to Italy via Dubai. He had concealed the drug into a bag and had crossed several checkpoints. However, ANF personnel spotted the suitcase and recovered eight kilogrammes of heroin which was valued at Rs57.45 million.
