Police excesses: Lawyers observe country-wide strike

ISLAMABAD: The lawyers’ community observed a strike on Wednesday across the country and boycotted court proceedings in protests against police torture on lawyers in Islamabad. SC Bar President Kamran Murtaza and Pakistan Bar Council’s vice chairman Syed Kalbe Hasan have held Registrar Supreme Court responsible for police torture on lawyers. The LHC Bar passed a resolution against police torture on lawyers and resolved to ban entry of media persons from Jang and Geo group in the bar.
