KARACHI: Pakistan cueists Imran Shehzad and Shahid Aftab landed in Latvia to participate in the IBSF World Snooker Championship on Wednesday, only to discover that their cues were left behind in Istanbul.

The Pakistan team left from Karachi to Riga via Istanbul.

When the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) officials were contacted over the issue, they revealed that their luggage was not loaded during the change of flight.

“Imran and Shahid are without cues because the staff, who was responsible for transferring luggage during the change of flight at Istanbul, failed to do so,” a PBSA official told The Express Tribune.

“But thankfully, the cues and their luggage are safe and will likely be sent to players by tomorrow [Friday]. In the meantime, we’re trying to ask the organisers to shift Imran and Shahid’s early morning matches to the evening so that they can play with their cues.”
