Letter to PM: Khattak calls for strategy against drones

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak wrote a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif asking him to convene a meeting of all the provinces, and devise a unified strategy against CIA’s drone campaign in Pakistan.

Sources privy to the matter said Khattak wrote the letter on Tuesday, saying that the world should be given a unified message when it comes to defending integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Quoting the letter, party sources said the K-P government has expressed its anger against the drone campaign, terming it a violation of country’s sovereignty. Khattak has asked Nawaz to suspend the Nato supplies prior to holding the meeting.

“Till the holding of the said meeting, it is necessary that the federal government suspends transportation of all Nato supplies entering K-P,” sources said, quoting Khattak’s letter. This was the only way to allay the stirred up feelings, which the provincial government sympathises with completely, they added.
