Islamabad Police Rescue 15 will now be called Musarat Rescue 15 to honour the work of late DSP Musarat Ali Khan.
ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police Rescue 15 will now be called Musarat Rescue 15. The formal announcement to rename the department was made by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq Mehmud Pirzada on Friday. The decision was taken to honour the work and duty of the late Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Islamabad Musarat Ali Khan.
Pirzada made the announcement at an event organised in honour of Khan.
DSP Musarat Ali Khan passed away on October 5 at Maroof International Hospital after a two-year long battle with Hepatitis C. He served in Islamabad police for more than 27 years and was appointed as the station house officer in several police stations.
During his last assignment, he was the DSP at Rescue 15 and introduced several projects to inculcate friendly police ecology in the city. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam said that Khan was a role model for all the police officers in Islamabad. “He always worked hard and was devoted to his job,” Imam said.
