PESHAWAR:

Tehreek Nifaz-e-Fiqa Jafria (TNFJ) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) council on Monday blamed the police for negligence which they claimed caused the clashes in Kohat on November 17. They urged the provincial government to deploy the Pakistan Army at sensitive locations till Rabiul Awal 8.

During a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, TNFJ provincial secretary Muhatar Ali Bangash expressed dissatisfaction with current security arrangements.

“Violence could have been averted if the administration had arranged for fool-proof security measures,” said Bangash. “After the Rawalpindi incident on Ashura, we informed the K-P government in writing of security risks in Kohat and asked for maximum security arrangements. But they failed to take action.”

Bangash also demanded the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the events in Kohat and bring the perpetrators to justice.
