No loss reported: IED blast, mortar shell attack in Mohmand

Two suspects were arrested by khasadar officials at Sharab Koor checkpoint in Safi tehsil.

An improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unidentified militants exploded near a house in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Sunday.


According to a political administration official, militants planted an IED outside Sultan Khan’s house in Olai Shah village.  Panic spread among residents after they heard the blast, the official added. There was no loss of life reported.

Sultan told the political administration, he had no rivalry with anyone and did not know why he was targeted.

Meanwhile, unidentified militants fired two mortar shells from the mountains of Tatara which landed in a field in Zorh Kallay; nothing was damaged.

Two suspects were arrested by khasadar officials at Sharab Koor checkpoint in Safi tehsil and were shifted to a jail for further investigation.
