Financial crunch: Professors protest non-payment of wages

The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans in support of their demands.

QUETTA: Dozens of assistant professors and lecturers braved chilly weather and rain to march in protest against non-payment of monthly salaries due to the financial crunch at the University of Balochistan (UoB). The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans in support of their demands, as such “Provincial government and Higher Education Commission should play their role to end the financial crisis.” Addressing the protesters, President Academic Staff Association, Kaleemullah Bareech said it has been six months the teachers and other staffers of the university are on strike but no one is paying any attention.
