Talent hunt: Drama festival kicks off at RAC

University students took to stage at RAC during All Punjab Inter-University Drama Festival.

RAWALPINDI: University students put on their acting hats and took to the stage at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) during the All Punjab Inter-University Drama Festival on Saturday. Dramatic societies of twelve universities are participating in the six-day festival that aims to promote performing arts. Arid Agricultural University (AAU) Vice Chancellor Rai Niaz and Pakistan Academy of Letters Chairman Abdul Hameed were chief guests at the opening ceremony. On Saturday, drama clubs of AAU staged its play “Roti Ki Khatir” while Bahria University put up “Soya Sher Kab Hoshyar Hoga”. Niaz said the festival is a positive step by RAC. Two dramas will be staged at RAC auditorium daily at 10 and 11am, along with a book festival on the sideline. The festival will run till November 28.
