Tennis: Manzar grabs ranking event title

Muhammad Manzar clinched the title of the A J Mirza Pharma Pakistan International Tennis Federation Seniors World Ranking Tennis Championship at Karachi Gymkhana.


He defeated Ali Bhagat 6-4, 6-2 in the 35+ men’s singles event, while Rashid Malik won the trophy for the 45+ men’s singles competition by defeating Israr Gul Khan 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in the final. In the 55+ event, Jamil Khan outclassed Akber Hyat Khan 6-0, 6-1.


Meanwhile, Maheen Dada outplayed Hania Naveed 6-1, 6-1 in the women’s category while Talha Zubair lifted the trophy for the U17 singles title as he downed Malik Hamza 6-3, 7-5.
